The Department of Special Collections contains the University Archives, the library's rare book and manuscript collections, the Beck Archives of Rocky Mountain Jewish Historical Society and the Carson-Brierly Dance Library.
Government Documents DU's official U.S. depository status dates back to 1909. However, many of the more than 700,000 documents found in the collection date from the 18th century.
Collection Liaisons Holdings of Penrose Library including the music library exceed one million volumes. Selectors on the library faculty work closely with university faculty to develop collections that support teaching and research at the University.
